SHOW SUMMARIES
DMV TYRANT By: Christopher Durang This short 15 minute play is a hilarious spoof on the service industry, and in particular, the Department of Motor Vehicles. Your sides will split with all the laughter that is packed into this simplistic play.
FINAL DRESS REHEARSAL By: Jack Frakes An amateur theatrical group's final dress rehearsal of Cinderellais a disaster: Cinderella is late, the prompter wants to play all the parts, the sassy stage crew is noisy, the author feels her brainchild is being ruined and the director is distraught. The stepsisters miss cues, sound effects are played at the wrong speed, the messenger crashes her bicycle and the fairy godmother can't find her wand. Final Dress Rehearsal is among the most popular plays for high school production according to the International Thespian Society. (30-40 minutes)
A MOMENT IN TIME By: Eddie Kennedy In this new and shattering play, Mr. Kennedy again displays his dramatic power and uncompromising honesty as he deals with a real and tragic situation. A family in the midst of divorce has come to the emergency room of a hospital where the son, Kevin, is hovering between life and death after an automobile accident. As the splintered family waits together, uncomfortable facts about Kevin's pre-accident behavior begin to emerge, suggesting that, in fact, the accident may have been a suicide. This is a play that will deeply concern your audience, and perhaps some of them will start recognizing questions at a time when it is still possible to find answers. Splendid roles for your cast and an important theme. (45 minutes)
